As each year passes since 9/11, our prayers continue for our country and the men,
women, and children who lost their lives in NYC, DC, and Pennsylvania. The presidential
proclamation that remembrance is “an opportunity to salute the heroes of 9/11,
recapture the spirit of unity and compassion that inspired our Nation following the
attacks, and rededicate ourselves to sustained service to our communities.”
Again, this year, the City of O’Fallon will conduct a Patriot’s Day Ceremony on the front grounds of City Hall and Assumption’s Middle School (6 th , 7 th , and 8 th graders) will
participate in the solemn event. The ceremony is set for Friday, September 9 th ,
with Fr. Nick Kastenholz, pastor, providing the invocation as well as the benediction.
ABVM students will distribute programs and flowers, lead the Pledge of Allegiance, sing
“God Bless America”, and be the program announcement readers that morning.
May God bless our country and those who have and continue to serve.
