Friday, April 5th might have been overcast, but beams of light shone from the faces of our Montessori through 8th graders as Grandparents and Favorite Adults approached the school. Mrs. Renaud, took the picture below of her students as they scampered to the window to watch the parade of grandmas and grandpas, aunts, uncles, and family friends arrive.
Gathering together in classrooms, visitors and students worked on projects together: some read together, others put together booklets, while others worked with the Chromebooks to discover information about Dinosaurs. The older students interviewed the adults learning of the life in "the good ol' days" and listened to stories of the past.
About 9:20, all gathered in the Halls of the Parish Center for refreshments, sugar and chocolate chip cookies and lemonade. Families had a photo taken, which the visitors will receive in an Easter card. Our hope is that fond and lasting memories were created.
Lastly, in thanksgiving for the LOVE of family and friends, we celebrated Mass together with Fr. Mitch as celebrant. Our introductory greeting, prayers of intercession, and readings of the day were spoken through the mouths of Grandparent and child.
The final thought, referring to a community of loving grandparents and grandchildren, aunts, uncles nieces and nephews gathered in His name, was from Corinthians," And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
