While the 8th graders were experiencing the Chrism Mass at the Basilica St. Louis on Holy Thursday, in Mid-town St. Louis, the current 7th graders (Class of 2020) provided a powerful rendition of the Passion of Christ to our student body, faculty, parents and parishioners.
Under the direction of Mrs. Joan Ryan, with coordination by Mrs. Rachel Martin, students read the Passion according to Luke, while classmates acted the parts. The faces of all involved showed the seriousness of the production, particularly, when Jesus was crucified, and there was a moment of silence when the audience knelt.
The Passion was a fitting and purposeful ending for the school on Holy Thursday. As the audience left the Chruch, several had commented on the "powerful presence" shown throughout the readings and acting. One individual stated that the moment of silence "brought her to tears."
Having participated in this experience as an audience member, I can say that our students showed true leadership and faithfulness in their presence and their presentation. Congratulations!
