Academic Bowl Competition

Posted on March 15, 2021 in: General News

St. Dominic High School hosted their 15th annual Academic Bowl on Thursday, March 11th. This year, 14 teams, from 8 different schools were present at the competition. These 14 teams competed head-to-head to answer questions from all subjects, from math and religion, to current events. St. Dominic's National Honor Society helped the event run smoothly. They read all questions, collected the answer sheets, as well as graded the answers. Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Elementary School was represented by two teams. Team members included: Lily Kaller, Ava Grossman, Trenton Blattel, Ben Hembrock,  Danielle Dang, Sydney Moore, Garrett Drohr, Jack Eckhard, Jack Burle, Daniel Heath, Adam Besse, and Grace Illy. By the end of the competition, Assumption came out with a great victory. We placed first and second place in the competition. Cottleville placed 3rd. It was an amazing event full of excitement. Congratulations to our 7th and 8th graders that participated - and to our faculty, Mrs. Kroeger and Mrs. Placatka, for sponsoring our teams.
