Back-to-School Open House and Parish Feast Day Celebration, Aug. 11

The Assumption Back-to-School Open House and Parish Feast Day Celebration is Sunday, Aug. 11. Mark your calendar now, and be sure to join us for 10 AM Mass, and then stay for a couple hours of fun on our school campus.

The day’s activities are from 11AM-12:30PM, and feature complimentary hotdogs and chips, a bounce house and slide inflatable combo and Bubble Van fun for all ages! Tents with tables and chairs will be available on the school parking lot and a variety of $1 drinks and Kona Ice treats for purchase to help combat the heat. All are welcome to grab a bite to eat and drink, and stay and walk the halls of Assumption School during this exciting event. Students can also drop off school supplies in the classrooms and meet their new teachers.

A warm welcome and many blessings to all our school staff and administration, especially to the new employees joining our loving Assumption School family. The new faces include Jenny Bardgett, Second-Teacher; Hallie Flanagan, Second-Grade Teacher; Melissa Relic, Preschool Instructional Aide; Aideen Floretta, Counselor; Lisa Pipkins, Middle School English Language Arts Teacher; Lara Etling, First-Grade Teacher; and Anne Wright, Spanish Teacher. We are so excited you are here! In addition, we would like to congratulate Jamie Burbridge for taking over for Dr. Patricia Hensley as the new principal. Jamie Welby is our new Assistant Principal and Bess Kleckner moved to our Faith Formation Team as the new Administrative Assistant to the Director of Religious Education (D.R.E) for Assumption.

Assumption Catholic School has been educating children for more than 150 years and has an enrollment of 439 students in pre-K through grades kindergarten-8th. Our students receive a faith-based education in a private school atmosphere with smaller classroom sizes. With a separate Early Childhood Learning Center featuring a creative curriculum and hands-on X-STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Math) classroom, our preschool and kindergarten students have the foundation for academic success to continue that educational excellence at the elementary school level.
